A FINAL HOMECOMING POSTSCRIPT BEFORE I TAKE A BREATHER (13 DECEMBER 2015)

Whew.....I have finally caught up! The date of this blog and that of real time are almost the same. I was beginning to think this would never happen.

Let me conclude this section of the adventures of the MobileMarshies with a quick postscript about our plans for 2016 before I sign off for a couple of months.....until we hit the road again next year.

We are currently at West Beach at the huge Adelaide Shores Caravan Park (which is rapidly filling with those who spend a deal of their summer here each year) where we are booked in until 5 January.

We'll then be moving back to Windsor Gardens (where we spent our first six weeks). My second cataract operation is scheduled for 11 January so we'll probably sit tight there until about the end of the 3rd week of January (or a shade before that).  We then plan to move down to Port Elliot for a couple of weeks. Our erstwhile neighbour from South Brighton has a property there on which our van will fit with ease in his driveway. For many years Marc has offered us the use of his holiday home....this time we have accepted with pleasure. This will afford us the chance to catch up with friends on the South Coast and still be within easy striking distance of the city in the event of any post-op problems.

Advice of a significant birthday in Adelaide on 20 February, one which demands our presence for a number of reasons, means that we shall not now be leaving to resume our travels quite as early as originally planned. So we have decided to take advantage of the interim period by booking into one of our favourite spots on Yorke Peninsula....ten days at Point Turton from 9 February.

From there it will be back here to West Beach for the weekend before we leave to travel east on Monday 22 February.....a quick trip across to the Mornington Peninsula where we are expected by our very good friends, the Vogts, at their newly acquired home at Mouth Martha on 24 February.

Beyond that we plan to stooge around Victoria until Easter when we are booked into the town of Porpunkah (near Bright) for five days (at $70 a night would you believe....talk about a gouge....The Treasurer nearly had a stroke). With the splendour of the high country autumn leaves hopefully under our tourist belts, from there it is off to spend time with more Victorian friends (whom we met at Kurrimine Beach several years ago) at their holiday house at Yarrawonga before slowly toddling our way north into NSW and a rendezvous with a group of Sydney folk in Mudgee 27 April - 3 May.

We are again booked into Kurrimine Beach for a couple of months from 20 July, but from the time we leave Mudgee until then we have no specific plans. Similary, post KB at this stage, we have nothing on the travel itinerary....it will be very much a matter of where the road, our fancy and anything which crops up, takes us.

A possible return to Adelaide next October for a knee replacement (or two) is on the cards but time will tell. At the moment it is annoying but not crippling. I'll see how things go.

So, dear readers, I shall now take literary leave of you all until late February. In doing so Liz and I (and Max, of course) wish each and everyone of you

A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A PEACEFUL AND PROSPEROUS 2016.
