IT'S TIME FOR ANOTHER 'WHERE ARE WE NOW?' UPDATE (8 JULY 2016)

As usual, I'm again running miles behind real time with this blog. There are a couple of reasons for this, not the least of which is that over the past month or so we have been in places where we have had no Internet capability (or very limited at best) for periods which have amounted to over two weeks.

I thought it time to post another 'real time' update, with a quick glance back over our travelling shoulders and our projected plans for the next few months.

We are currently in Mission Beach, staying with our very good 'pommy' friends Cate and David (erstwhile Oleander Street neighbours of many years ago).

When we left Poona we spent a few nights in Hervey Bay visiting ex-Glenelg Surf Club mates who now live there. From there as we made our way further north, and consistent with our plans to explore new Queensland destinations, we spent time in Childers, Agnes Water (and Town of 1770), Gladstone, Calliope River free camp, Kinka Beach (Yepoon), Cape Palmerston (south of Mackay), Proserpine, Alva Beach, and finally, one night in Townsville catching up with Adelaide friends before arriving here at Mission.

So as you can see, apart from no Internet, we have also been busy!

Things are now about to slow down. We'll be moving on on Wednesday next (13 July) to spend a week at Fishery Falls (30 kms south of Cairns) before retiring to our normal 'winter camp' at Kurrimine Beach on 20 July.

And there we shall be staying put for at least six to eight weeks before we begin the push south again. We are due back in Adelaide on 10 October and at this stage have plans to return along the coast initially and thence inland through Emerald, St George and on down through Lightning Ridge and across to Broken Hill from where we'll revisit the Barrier Highway et al back to Adelaide.

Obviously we still have much to share with you all......the Internet can be slow at Kurrimine, but at least I'll have much more time to devote to getting up to date.  Fingers crossed!
